Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Poker Ryu mobile application ("App") provided by Mad Cat Studio ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. About Poker Ryu
Poker Ryu is a preflop training application designed to help poker players improve their range knowledge, equity intuition, and decision-making through structured practice. The App is available on iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store).
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to use this App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement. The App is not directed at children under these ages.
3. User accounts
Creating an account is optional. Core training features are available without registration. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@pokerryu.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
4. Subscription plans and pricing
Poker Ryu offers the following optional subscription tiers, each available as a monthly or annual plan:
- Deshi — entry-level access unlocking foundational training tools.
- Shokunin — intermediate access with expanded training modes and features.
- Tatsujin — full access to all current and future premium features.
Pricing is displayed in your local currency in the App and in the relevant app store at the time of purchase. Prices are subject to change; any price change will be communicated before your next billing period and will take effect only upon renewal.
5. Free trial
We may offer a free trial period for certain subscription plans. During a trial, you have access to the features of the subscribed tier at no charge. At the end of the trial, your subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial period ends. You will not be charged during the trial. Only one free trial per Apple ID or Google account is permitted.
6. Billing and auto-renewal
Subscriptions are billed through the platform store from which you downloaded the App (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Mad Cat Studio does not directly process payment and does not store your payment card information. All billing is managed by Apple or Google under their respective terms.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's store account settings:
- iOS (Apple): Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Poker Ryu → Cancel Subscription.
- Android (Google Play): Go to Google Play → Menu → Subscriptions → Poker Ryu → Cancel Subscription.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid features until that date. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
8. Refunds
Because subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple or Google, all refund requests are subject to the policies of the relevant platform store:
- Apple App Store: Submit a refund request at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Google Play: Contact Google Play support at support.google.com/googleplay.
Mad Cat Studio does not issue refunds directly. We will cooperate with platform refund processes where required.
9. User responsibilities
You agree not to:
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part of it;
- reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without our written permission;
- use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App, its servers, or related systems;
- use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the App in a manner inconsistent with normal use.
10. Intellectual property
The App, including all content, graphics, code, training data, icons, and design elements, is owned by Mad Cat Studio and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the App.
Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on your personal device(s) for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.
11. App availability and maintenance
We aim to keep the App available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time.
We will provide reasonable notice of planned maintenance that causes significant downtime where practicable.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Mad Cat Studio does not warrant that the App will be error-free, secure, or meet your specific requirements.
Training content in Poker Ryu is intended for educational and recreational purposes. Results from training are not guaranteed, and performance at the poker table depends on many factors outside the App's control.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mad Cat Studio and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if no payment was made.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Mad Cat Studio is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction for any dispute arising from these Terms.
If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction where local mandatory consumer protection laws apply, those laws may provide you with additional rights that cannot be waived by these Terms.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email (if you have an account) before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
